Sokobanja is one of the tourist centers with a longest tradition and one of the most visited places in Serbia. Healing waters and clear mountain air, with lots of ozone are perfect for medical treatments and rehabilitation.
It is located in the southeast Serbia, on the banks of the river Moravica and the valley between mountains Rtanj and Ozren.
Lepterija is the most visited picnic place in Sokobanja. It is located 1,5 km away from the centre and the path along the river bank of Moravica leads you there. This river has wonderful wild beaches, very popular among the young population - beaches Šest kaca, Tri kace, Župan i Džentlmeni.
Nearby the entrance to the park of the Special hospital, on the Ozren mountain, there is a waterfall Ripaljka, in the river Gradašnica. It is one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfalls in our country at 17,5 meters in height and the first protected natural monument in Serbia.
In the Sokobanja centre there is a renovated turkish public bath Amam, so the visitors can use it almost as same as their midieval ancestors did. It was built by the Turks in the 15th century, on the foundation of the Roman baths.
Sokobanja has spa centers, aqua park, pools and sport fields for football, volleyball, tennis and basketball. This is a great place for young people. During summer season this resort offers many events such as concerts and parties, and it is also wonderful to spend evenings in the central street that is very lively during the season.
